2018 Athletic Hall of Fame Honorees
Ruben Ayala, Jr., ‘89, received an associate of arts degree in 1989 and was part of the Chaffey College baseball team. He currently owns Tippy’s Towing an award-winning service. The Ayala family has been in the towing industry since 1967. Ayala has established his business as a preferred transportation company for celebrities, professional athletes, and car owners of exotic, performance vehicles, and world-class hot rod builders. His company has appeared on several television car shows like American Hot Rod, West Coast Customs, and Arrested Development on the TLC, Discovery, and Velocity Channels.
Michael Jackson, ‘92, received an associate of arts degree in 1992. When attending Chaffey College Jackson received first team all-conference two years in a row. He received the Paul Smith Scholarship in 1991. Jackson received his Bachelor’s of Communications from the University of the Pacific. He played basketball internationally in Sweden, Spain, and Greece. For over 18 years, he worked in law enforcement for the Los Angeles Police Department. He is married and has two daughters.
Sheldon Pace, ‘04, attended Chaffey College from 2000 to 2004. While at Chaffey College, he played basketball and received many recognitions. He was captain of the basketball team all 4 years he attended Chaffey College. He played professional basketball overseas in Beijing, China for 3 years. Pace currently owns Xtreme Unity a non-profit organization that’s mission is to motivate and encourage youth to live healthy and active lifestyles. His organization increases opportunities for children to experience fun physical activities and inspires an early love of sports and fitness.
