Bio

Siraaj A. Muhammad is in his sophomore year as a Certified Athletic Trainer at Chaffey College. Prior to that, Siraaj was the Head Athletic Trainer at Mission Viejo High School and the Seasonal Athletic Trainer for USA Volleyball during the 2016 summer Olympics in Brazil.

Siraaj is a proud Alumni of Chaffey College who received an athletic scholarship to Missouri Western State University, where he played football in the MIAA conference and earned his Bachelors of Science in Biology. Siraaj became the 1^st Defensive MVP in the NCAA playoffs in school history. Siraaj returned to Chaffey College to learn techniques in the profession of Athletic Training, then went on to earn his Masters of Science in Athletic Training from California Baptist University in Riverside, CA. During his graduate program, he researched the effectiveness of the Mulligan Concept: Mobilization with Movement (MWM) on meniscal lesions in college athletes. Siraaj believes in the holistic approach of whole-patient care when interacting with athletes and patients, and he implements manual therapy techniques and psychosocial interventions into his clinical rehabilitation protocols when necessary. Siraaj has acted in the preceptor role, overseeing the development of Athletic Training Students from the University of La Verne and he has taken on the new role at Chaffey College as an adjunct professor, where he focuses on the most salient concepts in Athletic Training as a profession.

Siraaj is nationally certified as an athletic trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC) and he is a member of National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), the California Community College Athletic Trainers' Association (CCCATA) and the Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee (EDAC) for the Far West Athletic Trainers' Association (FWATA). Siraaj also holds a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number for healthcare professionals.  Siraaj enjoys researching history, working on motorcycles and retreating into nature with his family in his down time. Siraaj resides in Pomona, CA with his loved ones.
