BUCKLEY GOES NINE INNINGS FOR 5-0 SHUTOUT OF VVC
Sophomore Ryan Buckley earned his first win of the season in grand fashion today going all nine innings vs Victor Valley and throwing 100 pitches for the 5-0 conference win. Buckley also has five saves this season.
Offensively, the Panthers got a show start and posted the first run of the game in the third off a Jeovanni Delgado fielder's choice that brought in Sergio Ramirez. A wild pitch followed immediately by a throwing error by Victor Valley brought two more runs across the plate in the 6th. In the 7th, Jason DuMont had a spectacular solo RBI triple but was later throw out at home. Alex Cummings, in his only at bat of the game, picked up the final RBI off a single that scored Cooper Way. The Panthers closed out the win 5-0.
Chaffey is on the road Tuesday, traveling to College of the Desert. The last time the two teams faced off (1/25), the Panthers shutout the Roadrunners 12-0. Chaffey will take on Desert three times next week including a Thursday home game at 2:30 pm.
