PANTHERS FALL TO PALOMAR BY 5
Despite a very strong second half, the Panthers came up 5 short against Palomar Saturday, falling 31-26. Palomar took an early lead with a touchdown and a field goal in the 1st quarter, answered before the end of the half with a Chaffey run into the endzone by Justin King - the following 2 point conversion failed to end the half with the Comets up 10-6. The third period saw touchdowns by both teams another Justin King run to take the score to within 5 points. In the fourth, the teams volleyed back and forth with TDs by both teams. Xzavier Leslie carried the ball while Zack Fields caught an 18-yard pass by freshman quarterback Connor Mire for his 2nd touchdown this season.
The men have a bye this week and will return to play on October 14th at Riverside City College.
