PANTHERS CLAIM 15TH WIN AT COMPTON
The Panther men raked up their 15th consecutive win Saturday at Compton, defeating the Tartars 72-8. Leading three minutes into play, the Panthers put the first TD on the board with a Caleb Arreola to Javian Lofton Wilson pass. The pair went on to score again with three minutes left in the first quarter, this time off a 56-yard pass; Arreola's longest of the game. Arreola who only was in the play in the first half posted an impressive 214 yards and four touchdowns; his most TDs in a single game this season. Maximillian Davila took over for Arreola after the break, scoring a passing TD to Niko Busque in the 3rd. Freshman QB Andrew Valdez made his collegiate debut finishing off the game for the Panthers.
Tyler Sweet, who stunned crowds in the win against Pasadena with an 85-yard reception to score, had another great game, leading the Panthers with four receptions. Standouts Greg Jordan and Jaymin Sarono also scored for the Panther offense. Nick Lawson had his third perfect game of the 2019 season with one 34-yard fieldgoal and four PATs. Vincent Merino was 5:6 on extra point attempts, taking on the Tartars in the 2nd half of play.
This week, the Panthers host Glendale College. Last year, the Panthers shutout Glendale 37-0 on their home field. Caleb Arreola threw for 281 yards against the Vaqueros. Also returning to the field with GC will be Javian Lofton Wilson and Nick Lawson.
