PANTHERS DOMINATE AT MT SAC
The Panther men won their third in-a-row last night at Mt SAC, defeating the Mounties 83-69. Leading by 10 at the half, the Chaffey squad lead by Manu Oulai with 22 points and Jaylen Wiltz with 19 outpaced the Mounties offensively and defensively in both halves of play. It was Manu's 14th double-double on the season with a season high 16 rebounds.
Jeff Klein, "We reached many of our team goals last night with our win over Mt SAC. The guys shot 54% from the field, 45% from the three, and 80% from the line and won the rebounding battle for the game, We are coming together at the right time."
This week's string of wins have moved the Panthers up in the rankings, coming in #16 in the state (2/11/19) and #11 in the Massey Ratings. The Panthers are one game out of the title race, 2nd only to East LA - the only other Top 20 SCC North team. With a difficult week ahead for both teams, the championship decision will likely come down to the final conference games of the season with Chaffey facing off against Pasadena at home and ELAC hosting LA Trade Tech.
The men host Rio Hondo tomorrow night in their last of two regular season home contests. The Roadrunners have had a difficult season (4-21) but are coming off an upset win 75-70 vs LA Trade Tech last night.
