PANTHERS SHOW 2ND PERIOD FORCE IN WIN OVER LATT
In what looked to be a fairly close game early on, the Panthers hosted LA Trade Tech tonight, easily toppling the Beavers 92-68.
In the first half, the teams went back-and-forth scoring with the game within 4 points for the majority of the period. At the horn, Chaffey was up by one after a series of Panther fouls allows LATT to close the gap from five. But the second half was a completely different ball game with the Panthers emerging from the locker room in force taking a commanding nine point lead with 15 minutes to play. They would hold that position until the final buzzer.
"It was a tale of two halves," said Head Coach Jeff Klein. "We played with 20 minutes of great defense and a high level of intensity. We took Trade Tech out of all their sets and our defense led to a lot of transition baskets. These guys play hard."
Scoring was led by Marcus Green with a season high 21 points.
The Panthers will play the next one on the road at Canyons Saturday and will return to the Sports Center Tuesday to take on Rio Hondo.
