FRESHMAN AUDRIE TORRES FINISHES GW INVITE IN 13TH PLACE
Freshman runner Audrie Torres had her second big collegiate showing Friday taking the 13th slot at the respected Golden West Invitational. Torres' 20:54 finish was 18 seconds faster than the previous week. "She ran a smart race with patience early on that really helped," commented Head Coach Rob Lander. Both Mixtli Aguilar Guzman and Sonia Tuia improved their scores from last year finishing 22nd and 39th respectively. Tuia was running over 2 minutes faster than at last weeks regional preview.
"All three women ran fantastically! We're excited to see what our women's team can do at full power." Both cross country teams now take a competitive break before resuming at the Brubaker Invitational on October 11th. The IEAC Championship will be hosted at Chaffey College on October 25th.
