Bio

Coach Robles enters his 3rd season on the Chaffey College coaching staff and his 6th overall season in the profession.

Coach Robles brings a wealth of offensive knowledge to the Panther’s football program having coached every skill position on the offensive side of the ball.  Robles, will continue working with the Running Backs in 2020 while still assisting at the Tight End position. Coach Robles will also continue his major role as an assistant on the special teams coaching the kickers, punters, and long snappers.

Prior to Chaffey College, Robles’ began his career in 2015 coaching the quarterbacks at Citrus College in Glendora, CA. Robles helped mentor Citrus College Team Captain Brian Meyette to a record-breaking freshman season where he started every game for the Owls while achieving a 54.4 % completion percentage, 237.2 yards per game, and 114.7 pass efficiency. Additionally, under Coach Robles the 209 completions on the year ranked second in program history, while Myette’s 2,372 passing yards rank 3rd most in Citrus program history.

In 2016 Coach Robles made the move to Chaffey College where he continued his role as an assistant Coach on offense working with the quarterbacks. Despite losing 3 QBs prior to week 4 to season ending injuries, Coach Robles Helped guide Vincent Bowes through a rookie season that including leading the team in offensive touchdowns, while throwing for over 1,000 yards in only 6 games played.

In 2017 Chaffey College shuffled the offensive staff and utilized Coach Robles in various positions including assisting with every skill position. With his ability to float and mentor various skill positions the 2017 season saw great growth on offense including passing yards per game, passing yards per attempt, Completions, 3rd down conversions, total red zone scoring, red zone scoring percentage, and also saw a decrease in offensive turnovers. With his versatility Coach Robles was able to have his hand in the development of Weber State Signee and All-League Tight End Jacob Whitmer, Eastern New Mexico Signee Wide Receiver Zachary Fields, and University of Mary Signee Quarterback Jordan Velarde.

After promoting Artie Allen to Offensive Coordinator in 2018, Coach Robles was charged with coaching the Tight Ends and Assisting with the offensive line. In his first season with the TE’s and 3rd overall in the program Robles helped take place in an offensive revival that saw Chaffey College beat the previous seasons overall statistics in nearly every category. The offense tripled the total points and points per game output from the previous season, while also doubling the yards per game. The Chaffey College offense broke records this year that may never be touched again including scoring (91) points in a game vs Compton college, reaching (512) receiving yards in a game, and catching (7) receiving touchdowns in a game. The team completed a 10-1 season, that included a undefeated metro league championship and a western states bowl championship. The 2018 season also saw Robles mentor first time Tight End Elijah Montgomery to sign with Lyon College (NAIA). In 2018 Robles also mentored talented redshirt Tight End Shakell Brown, who went on to sign with West Texas A&M (NCAA D2).

In 2019, Coach Robles proved versatile yet again, moving to coach the Running Back position. Despite losing the top 3 projected running backs prior to the start of the season the offense continued its dominance. The offense finished with a ranking of 1st in points, 2nd in first downs, 3rd in overall yards, and top 5 in rushing yards (1,903), rushing touchdowns (30), rushing first downs, and yards per rushing attempt (5.1) in the SCFA. A testament to the mentorship of Robles and this record-breaking group was that Devin Imbach was selected all-league and the panthers had a total of 8 players with 21 or more carries with no one player surpassing 76 total carries. Also, with another bright spot, of the 12 sacks that chaffey college allowed, only 3 were by a running back, an astonishing (0.27/ game).The team finished the season 11-0 including holding a current 21 game win streak, a second undefeated metro league championship, and being crowned the winners of the American division championship.

During his playing career, Coach Robles played his prep football at Ontario High School in Ontario, California where he played 4 years of Quarterback, and was a 3-year letterman. His senior year, Robles was named 1st Team All Mt. Baldy League, and Offensive Team MVP.

Subsequently, Robles attended Citrus College to start his Quarterback collegiate career where he played his freshmen year, and redshirted the following season. After his redshirt year, Robles earned a scholarship to West Virginia State University in Institute, WV in 2011. At WVSU he lettered two years and graduated in 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology. Having a year left of eligibility, Robles earned another scholarship offer to Western New Mexico University in Silver City, NM to play his senior year as a graduate transfer and start his Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Coach Robles finished his Degree from WNMU in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2017.

Robles earned his Master’s Degree and teaching credential in Physical Education at Azusa Pacific University in 2019, and then returned to school to add an authorization in adapted physical education in 2020.  Apart from Chaffey College Coach Robles also is a physical education teacher for the Montebello Unified School District and resides in Ontario California.
