Bio

Former Chaffey College standout Prentice Harris enters his second year as Associate Head Coach and his 8th season overall. In eight seasons with Chaffey College, Harris has experienced five Conference championships, one state finals appearance and 3 final fours during his time as coach. Harris coaching record is an impressive 164-58 (.738). 

Harris has been active on the recruiting trail, helping the Panthers secure commitments from the top talent in the inland empire and surrounding areas. In addition, Harris has been instrumental in the development of the elite young talent in the Panther’s program since his return to Chaffey College, helping mentor numerous players to lofty collegiate accolades.

As a coach at Chaffey College, Harris has played a key role in the development of 2014 All-State player Adom Jacko, 2016 State player of the year Victor Joseph, 2018 All-State player Brain beard Jr, 2019 and 2020 All-State player Kehasson Oulai, and 2020 All-State player Darrin Williams. Jacko was a starter at Loyola Marymount University where he was named to the all-West Coast Conference team in 2016. Joseph was amongst the CCCAA leading scores at 21.3 ppg and one of a select few players in the CCCAA to receive a division one scholarship to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2016.  Lastly, in 2017 Harris was influential to helping Beard becoming one of the top point guards in the state of California and assisting beard in landing a Division 1 scholarship to Florida International University.

As a player, he won the C.I.F. championship at Upland High School (2001), where he was all league selection 3 years as a varsity starter. He then took his talents to Chaffey College where he was all conference both years and conference champion (2003). After Chaffey College, Harris earned a scholarship to Northwest Nazarene in Idaho where he helped the team double their win totals. Finally, found a home at California State University San Bernardino where he led the team to a west region championship and their first final four appearance under Jeff Oliver. Prentice accolades earned his final year at CSUSB where:  First team all CCAA conference, second team all-region, Most outstanding player of the west region tournament, and athlete of the year (2007). 

Prentice Harris received his undergraduate degree from California State University San Bernardino and earned his master's degree from Concordia University. He now resides in Rancho Cucamonga and is the proud father of his beautiful daughter Marley Williams-Harris and son Prentice Harris III or P3 for short.
