PANTHERS SWEEP BARSTOW IN IEAC PLAY

The Panthers remain undefeated (4-0) in Inland Empire Conference action after back-to-back wins Friday against Barstow.
In game 1, Violet Salazar gave up only two hits in 7-innings striking out 11 batters for her 6th win of the season. Defensively, the Panthers held off the Vikings keeping them scoreless for a 2-0 win. At the plate, Salazar had a double and accounted for one of the Panthers' two runs. Alyah Rueff had the second. Catcher Clarissa Banuelos had the sold RBI of the game.
Shortly after, the teams took the field again but a spark was lit in the Viking offense as they scored two runs to start the game. By the end of the first inning the score was tied 2-2, and would remain tied until Cora Garcia scored a walk-off run (Salazar RBI)win in the 7th. Final score 3-2.
Newest coaching addition, Kaitlyn Hooper Bell commented, "I'm really happy with the way we played defense today. Overall a great day for Panther Softball."
The Panthers host LA Mission Tuesday in non-conference play and resume IEAC play Wednesday at Desert.
