PANTHERS STAY UNDEFEATED WITH WIN AT COD
The Panthers remain undefeated in conference after a 6-3 road win at College of the Desert Wednesday. The #1 Chaffey squad is solidly 3 games ahead of #2 Barstow who the Panthers have already defeated twice this season.
Violet Salazar threw a complete game victory, allowing just one earned run with 6 strikeouts while adding a single & a double at the plate. This was Violet's 7th season win.
"We had to work out of a bases-loaded jam in the first but then really dominated the game for the next 6 innings to beat a solid team on the road," said Head Coach Jerry Tivey.
Coralyn Garcia went 2-3 with a double and 2 RBIs and Alyah Rueff also knocked in a pair of runs while stealing her 16th base of the season.
"It's great to get through the first round of conference play undefeated but we know we've got a lot of hard work in front of us if we want to be IEAC Champions."
The Panthers resume conference play Wednesday, March 23rd against San Bernardino Valley. Valley is 3-4 in conference. This is the first matchup for the longtime rivals this season.
