After losing the the 2020-21 season due to COVID, the Panthers were finally able to begin their competitive run again - opening at Riverside City College last night.
At RCC, the Panthers came up short - eventually falling to the Tigers 84-53. At the half, Chaffey trailed by a manageable 13 but RCC managed to far outpace the small Chaffey squad 3:1. Chaffey rallied back in the 4th but by then the deficit was too high to overcome.
In her collegiate debut, Trinity Walker (who hails from Zion, Illinois) got 16 points past the Tiger defense. Sophomore returner Brianna Medrano added 13.
The Panthers play their first home game of the season tomorrow night against Compton College.
