PANTHER WOMEN END HISTORIC SEASON AT CCCAA FINALS
December 5, 2022
Women's Soccer's historic season culminated the first weekend of December at American River College as the Panthers defeated Fresno City College in the CCCAA championship semifinal round. The #1 seeded Panthers then moved on to play #2 Saddleback for the 2022 state title. The two teams had previously played in September with Chaffey delivering the SC Bobcats one of their two season losses. Chaffey went into the final game undefeated, with an 18 game winning streak. It would be Saddleback though that would deliver the only blow of the season, defeating the Panthers in the final 2022 match 2‐0.
Head Coach Grace Cooper, in her 16th season at Chaffey, was named the State Coach of the Year. She had been previously named IEAC Coach of the Year. This was her fourth consecutive conference championship, and fifth overall. Coach Cooper has consistently fielded a team of talented athletes and assistant coaches and has built a program that is highly regarded at the regional, state, and national level. The 2022 season was the most successful in program history with 22 wins, 2 coaching awards, 13 student‐athlete awards, and a state finals appearance.
