The Panthers opened the home season this afternoon, hosting the Chaffey Quad with teams from Santa Ana, Saddleback, and San Diego City College. Chaffey took on Santa Ana and Saddleback in back-to-back games.
Against Santa Ana, the Panthers struggled, falling 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-18). Victoria Meneses led Chaffey with 8 kills and 4 digs.
Against Saddleback, the Panthers came on stronger minimizing any lead held by the Bobcats. Chaffey eventually fell 3-1 after a comeback third set looked to be turning the tide for the Panther squad (25-16). Meneses again led the Panthers with 10 kills and 3 digs.
The Panthers take on Cal Tech and University of Redlands tomorrow at Redlands and resume junior college action Wednesday at Mt SAC.
