The Panthers participated in the two-day LA Mission Tournament over the weekend getting a glimpse of the upcoming IEAC season with a match against Mt San Jacinto College.
On day 1 of the tournament, the Panthers faced off against Glendale, defeating the Vaqueros 3-0 (25-9, 26-24, 25-5).
Day 2 brought host LA Mission and the MSJC Eagles. This was Chaffey's 2nd bout with Mission having won their September 2nd tournament match 3-2. This time around the Panthers came up short, falling to Mission 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-23). Against San Jacinto, Chaffey went 3-2 in the 3rd place finals round (25-18, 18-25, 25-11, 14-25, 15-13) ultimately dropping the match by a close 15-13 set.
The Panthers have a break until the 28th when they open the conference season with a home match against San Bernardino Valley.
