BASEBALL TAKES TWO AGAINST CERRO COSO

Panther Baseball opened the 2017 season last weekend, defeating the Cerro Coso Coyotes both Friday and Saturday in Ridgecrest. Friday Jonathan Longtin earned the win, giving up 2 runs in 5 innings on the mound. Matt Vigil relived, holding the Coyotes scoreless. Aaron McCann and Oscar Martinez scored twice for Chaffey. Logan Gopperton had two RBIs.
Saturday, the Panthers again defeated Cerro Coso (7-2) with Brandon Whetnight earning the day's win. Gopperton lead the Panther offense with 2 runs, 1 hit, and 1 RBI.
The men open the home season Tuesday against Barstow College.
