The men hosted Saddleback yesterday afternoon, falling by one run to the Gauchos 6-5.
The Panthers took a first inning lead (2-1) off a Logan Gopperton single bringing in Oscar Martinez and Aaron McCann. The men held on until a rally by Saddleback in the 5th took the score to 4-2. Chaffey came back in the 7th to score 3 and tie the game; first with a bases loaded walk and then with a Jonathan Longtin single that brought in McCann and Jake Nichols.
Saddleback scored a single run in the 8th.
Longtin pitched the first 5 with Brandon Whetnight on relief.
The men travel to Grossmont today.
