West LA
Like most Southern California teams, after a series of rain delays this week the Panthers were finally able to take the field, regaining their spirit and delivering a 4-1 victory over West LA. Under cloudy skies and the threat of rain, the Chaffey men started off the contest with a single RBI by sophomore 1st baseman Matt Shea bringing Andy Otterson across the plate. The bottom of the third brought two more single RBIs - first by Eddie Pietschmann followed by Bradley Chesterson that brought Pietschmann in to score. West LA was scoreless until a single homer put them on the board. Seamus Fallon responded with a deep double to bring in Shea and take the Panthers into the ninth up 4-1.
Kyle Hansen pitched the first five for the win. Ryan Buckley started of the 6th, faced 16 batters, gave up the solo run and took the save. The Panthers return to Lowder Field Tuesday afternoon to finally take on Canyons in a twice rain rescheduled contest.
