The men began two days of baseball against Golden West yesterday with a 9-9 game postponed for darkness in the top of the 9th inning. Play resumed today just prior to the regularly scheduled game with Danny Mendez scoring in the bottom of the 10th for a Panther 10-9 win. Minutes later, the teams were back on the field with the Panthers again emerging victorious 3-2.
Today, the Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd starting with a Darren Taylor double that brought in Bradley Chesterton who also reached on a double. Two plays later saw Taylor steal home for the inning's 2nd run. The Panthers scored their third run of the game in the 6th after Sergio Ramirez tripled then scored on a wild pitch to Jeovanni Delgado. The Rustler managed one in the final half but came up short against a strong Panther defense.
Elias Jauregui earned his first win of the season pitching the first three innings. Zuko Tillman picked up the save.
The team takes on Irvine Valley tomorrow at 1pm.
