Team Stats
With both teams scoreless until the 7th inning yesterday, Severiano Urias knocked a sac fly into centerfield to bring in Bradley Chesterton and take the Panthers to a 1-0 lead over Irvine Valley. Urias and Chesterton returned in the 9th to bring in Chaffey's 2nd run of the game, followed by a Colby Sims single RBI that brought Urias across the plate giving the Panthers a 3-0 win over Irvine Valley.
Josh Sandoval started off on the mound for the Panthers going 5.1 in his collegiate debut and giving up only three hits. Johan Castillo followed for 1.1 and Tyler Tilton closed the game out. The pitching staff gave up a total of four hits and zero runs against the Lasers.
This is the Panthers' eighth season win. Today's conference opening game vs Mt San Jacinto was preemptively postponed due to anticipated weather issues. The men are scheduled to take on Desert Tuesday at home.
