The Panthers put in an outstanding performance today according to Interim Head Coach Andy Smith in their 6-4 win over El Camino College.
"Nathaniel Garacia went toe-to-toe with a great arm on the end with some great efforts in relief by Brandon Wedge, Eric Rohrer, and Logan Hunt." Smith continues. "It was a resilient team win against a first class program and coaching staff."
El Camino scored in the first inning and held that lead until the 4th when Cole Howarth singled to centerfield bringing Jared Bujanda and Matthew Chavez across the plate. The score held until the final appearances for both teams with the Panthers scoring four in the 9th expanding their lead to 6-1. The Warriors rallied to score three before being ousted on an infield groundball with two runners on base.
In all, Chaffey ran through six pitchers with Garcia earning the win and Hunt the save. Garcia pitched six full innings for the win.
The Panthers are at Fullerton tomorrow. Fans are welcome with proof of vaccination or proof of a negative test within 72 hours of the event.
