Mt. San Jacinto
Despite a first-inning lead by Panther Baseball yesterday, a 7th inning rally by Mt San Jacinto was too much to overcome with Chaffey eventually falling 12-8.
Ricky Rodarte started off on the mound for the Panthers but Josh Sandoval took the loss pitching the 5th and 6th innings. Garcia, Barrera, Wedge, Bautista and Aguirre completed the game for Chaffey. Garcia gave up five runs, Aguirre four in Mt San Jacinto's big 7th inning batting frenzy.
The Panthers were not short on hits themselves, racking up 12 including three triples.
Head Coach Smith summed up the disappointing loss, "Mt San Jacinto has one of the best offenses in the state and they showed it THursday against us. Jake Hansen has done an outstanding job with his hitters over there and they punished some mistakes. Credit to our guys for fighting back in the end but it was too big of a hole to climb out of unfortunately. Their starter did a great job mixing pitches and keeping our guys off balance most of the game."
The Panthers will have another crack at the Eagles Saturday.
