The Panthers hosted San Diego City Saturday defeating the Knights 5-3. Chaffey came out swinging in the 2nd to take a 3-0 lead off a series of singles by Michael Woodward, Clay Porter and Adam Monteon. The team held their 3 run lead until the 7th when the Knights were able to close the gap to 2. A single by Aaron Whobrey in the 4th and a single run homer by Jacob Billings in the 5th secured the win.
James Rivera got his first win of the season pitching 6.2. He was relieved by Eric Rohrer and Julian Alanis who held the Knights hitless in the final two innings of play.
The Panthers travel to Cypress Tuesday.
