The Panthers returned to Lowder Field this afternoon, taking on Cerro Coso and defeating the Coyotes 5-2.
For the second consecutive home game, Jacob Billings stunned fans with a leftfield bomb over the fence - this time scoring two and putting the Panthers into a solid two run lead against Coso. Clay Porter crossed home three times, including once courtesy of Billings' homer.
Braden Hofmeyer earned his third win of the season going six full innings, giving up seven hits and striking out five. Brock Mayer took over to start the seventh, finishing off the final nine batters and grabbing his first save.
The Panthers have taken the first three games of the conference season to hold the top spot in IEAC. Next up they will travel to Barstow Saturday and then begin a series against Victor Valley with a home game Thursday at 2:30.
