PANTHER FOOTBALL READY TO DOMINATE
The Panthers led by Head Coach Robert Hadaway look to build off of an impressive record breaking 10-1 (6-0) 2018 season. Last season will be tough to follow after ranking 1st in the state on defense and 3rd on offense, but the panthers are up to the challenge.
The defense will look to reload after losing 12 key players to scholarship. Heading the charge upfront will be returning defensive lineman Francisco Jimenez and Frank Scagnamiglio, both sophomores look to continue the success of their freshman season. Jimenez and Scagnamiglio will be joined with talented newcomer Keyshon Clark. In the heart of the defense Chaffey College returns sophomore linebackers Ryan Torres and the Gary Theard accompanied by an immensely talented group of freshman. In the back row the panthers lose all 5 of their starters and look to reload with bounce back local products Tayari Venable (SDSU) and Simeon Burns (Dixie State) and a plethora of new talent.
On the offensive side of the ball we will see 6 returning starters accompanied by a talented group of new arrivals. Lefty gun-slinger Caleb Arreola returns as the reigning conference MVP and looks to repeat that feat. In the backfield with Arreola will be sophomore speedster Artis Seymore who led the team in rushing last season. The top target 1st team all-conference wide receiver Javian Lofton-Wilson returns and is looking to build on his impressive numbers. At the Tight End position the panthers gain all-conference contenders in Tavoi Hoching and Shakell Brown. Rounding out the explosive offense will be the monsters upfront returning all-conference selections at the offensive line position Isaiah Coleman and Josh Ramos. Solidifying the offensive line with Coleman and Ramos will be Junior Malere, Raymond Matelua, and Rueben Saravia.
Another bright spot last season for the panthers was the kicking game, after losing Punter Luis Chavez to graduation it looks like all-conference Nick Lawson will add the punting duties to his plate to go along with place-kicking and kick off duties.
The pre-season lineup features some heavy hitters. The Panthers will look for revenge against their only blemish of the 2018 schedule, Los Angeles Harbor College in week 1. In week 2 The Panther's host local rival Victor Valley College, and in week 3 face community college juggernaut Mount San Antonio College. Rounding out the preseason schedule is Pasadena City College. October 5th Metro league play opens up and the panthers will look to run the table against conference competition that features 4 new head coaches.
We look forward to the continued success of our program and welcome you for the ride in 2019! Go Panthers!
