For the second year in-a-row, the Panthers upset nationally ranked Mt SAC - this year by a narrow margin 2-point stunner.  Nick Lawson was 4:4 on field goal attempts including a 4th quarter 39-yard shot that gave the Panthers the lead and ultimately the win.  Lawson was named SCFA Player of the Week for his performance at Saturday's game.

Just looking at the numbers, the Panthers were outpaced by the Mounties but persistance and consistancy paid off with a Chaffey win.  Mt SAC took a 1st quarter lead with a quick succcesion of touchdown, safety, and field goal but the Panthers resumed their charge in the 2nd with Lawson's 1st FG of the game followed by Greg Jordan's 15-yard run into the endzone and the the duo Javian Lofton-Wilson and Caleb Arreola delived their signature touchdown for the Panthers' first lead of the game.  Just before the break, Mt SAC scored a 21-yard fieldgoal to take the teams back to the locker rooms tied 15-15.

The nail-biter continued into the second half with the Panthers taking a 6-point lead thanks to two additional Lawson field goals.  Coming down to the final six minutes, Mt SAC scored their second TD of the game with a short distance rush taking a 1-point lead.  Lawson was again put in field goal position, shooting a beautiful 39-yard kick through the posts to put Chaffey back in the lead with less than 3 minutes remaining.

Last year, the Panthers stunned California football by shutting out the Mounties on our homefield.  It was Mt SAC's first shutout in recent history.  The Mounties came into Saturday's game ranked #6 in the state and are highly favored in the National Division.

This was a huge win for Panther Football who are on a 13 game winning streak, the longest in the state.  The men host Pasadena City Saturday for our annual blackout game.  Pasadena is 2-1 and coming off a loss to top-ranked Saddleback last week.
