It was a battle of black cats Saturday night as the Panthers traveled to Southwestern (Chula Vista) to take on the Jaguars.
The Panthers took an early lead and headed into the lockerroom at the half up 21-0. After the break, the Panthers replicated the first two periods putting up 14 and 7 to close out the contest.
Nicholas Poulos threw for 236 yards and had two scoring rushes. Rjay Tagataese made his Chaffey debut and sscored his first collegiate touchdown off a 9-yard pass. Zaire Lozolo led in receiving on the night, scoring one for the Panthers.
Jacob Meneses was 6:6 on extra points and had two punts and seven kickoffs. Nathan Downing and Ezra Alapati led the defense with 15 combined tackling plays.
The team has a bye this week and will begin conference play Saturday, October 15th at Cerritos.
