The Panthers faced off against Santiago Canyon (ranked #4 in the south) tonight, falling short 82-73.
Chaffey was on fire the first half, dominating the court and leading the Hawks 43-37 at the half. After the break, the aggressive Santiago squad went head-to-head and gave Chaffey a run for their money, coming from behind to take and hold the lead until the final buzzer.
Chaffey's offensive charge was led by Eulysses Foston who put 17 points on the board including three 3s. Marcus Green added 14 points, four rebounds and two steals. Brody Davis and Jozelle Carter each had 13 points. Davis also had six steals.
Head Coach Jeff Klein characterized Santiago Canyon as one of the best teams in the south and tonight's game as playoff worthy. "We showed offensive intensity and defensive effort. This is a game we'll remember and learn from."
The men return home to take on Santa Ana Wednesday, November 16th at 5pm.
