The Panther men fought their first battle of 2023 on the road last night, falling to San Bernardino Valley by two in the final seconds of play.
With just 2 seconds on the clock,Valley broke a 71-71 tie off a jump shot. Chaffey rallied, calling a timeout but could not pull off a final hail Mary in the IEAC game.
In the first half, Chaffey dominated the court outscoring the Wolverines 39-27. After the break, Valley came on strong to ultimately makeup the deficit and edge the Panthers by two.
Brody David led the Panther offense with 18 points and seven rebounds. Miguel Robles added 11 to the board.
The team plays at Copper Mountain Monday and will return home Wednesday to take on College of the Desert.
