The Chaffey men opened the 2019 season yesterday with a 2-1 win over Pasadena. The teams went into the halftime break scoreless until freshman midfielder Miguel Correa posted the team's first goal of the season with a clean shot off the head. Correa went on to score a second with minutes left in play to take the opening game 2-1. Returning goalkeeper Alex Mitchell managed two saves at the net.
"Overall, for the first game of the the season, I was pleased with our performance," said Head Coach Ben Cooper. "We have lots to work on and lots to figure out but some of our freshmen really stepped up in their first collegiate game."
The Panthers travel to Antelope Valley Friday at 4pm.
