The men tackled longtime rival San Bernardino Valley yesterday, ending with a draw in conference play. At the half, the Panthers were up 2-1 with goals by Ivan Diaz and Carlos Benito-Hernan in the first period. Valley came back to tie the game halfway through the second half off a penalty kick.
According to Head Coach Ben Cooper, "It was a typical Chaffey-SBVC battle. We're two very good teams but overall it was an ugly game. We gave up two penalty kicks but scored a couple of really nice goals. We didn't create enough up top to be as dangerous as we have been. When SBVC is on our turf, I expect a much better performance from our squad."
The men host Taft (non-conference) on Friday and resume IEAC play at home Tuesday against Victor Valley.
