One goal was all that made the difference Friday as the Panthers defeated Taft College 1-0. Miguel Correa scored the single goal of the game four minutes into the game - assisted by Marco Rodriguez. Rylan Opatkiewicz held the Cougars scoreless with four saves.
Head Coach Ben Cooper: We scheduled Taft during our BYE week because it's a always a great game against a perennial Final Four team. But this year, the game was ugly, neither team played at their best. We happened to score early on a set piece and that was enough to get the victory. We need to refocus and get back to doing what we've been doing... playing well against conference opponents.
The men resume conference play this afternoon hosting Victor Valley at 4pm.
