Traveling down to San Diego City yesterday proved advantageous for Panther Soccer as the men defeated SDCC 3-2.
The men put two on the board before the break with shots in by Miguel Gonzalez Palo and Kaleb Duran to give the Panthers their one goal lead. In the 2nd half, Jeremiah Duan put another in to put the team up by two. Defense held the Knights to only two goals total - Jonathan Valdez had six saves.
Head Coach Chris Araya: Very happy with today's performance. After going down 1-0, we were resilient and kept working hard. Our subs came in and did a phenomenal job. Being able to finish the half with a lead of 2-1 was crucial. The second half was very manageable and our game plan was efficient. We should have managed the game a bit better and not allow it to become a 3-2 game at the end, but we are very young and still maturing as a team. Overall very pleased with our performance.
We are now looking forward to facing El Camino for our second home game of the season.
The men face off against El Camino Friday at 2pm.
