The Chaffey College men's soccer team continued its strong start to the 2025 season with an offensive showcase, defeating Santa Ana College 6-3. The Panthers featured five different goal scorers, finishing with six goals on eight shots on target, and pulled away in the second half to secure their second straight win.
The Dons struck first in the 8th minute, but the Panthers quickly responded. Victor Ramos leveled the match with a finish in the 17th minute off a feed from Ernesto De Lara. Just a minute later, Julio Martinez put Chaffey ahead with a setup from Alesandros Sanchez. The momentum continued as Diego Garcia added a goal in the 27th minute from an assist by Adrien Vazquez, sending Chaffey into halftime with a 3-1 lead.
The Panthers extended their advantage shortly after the break. Garcia tallied his second goal in the 47th minute on a setup from Martinez, before Kevin Velasquez scored twice in quick succession, first in the 53rd minute from Martinez and again unassisted in the 63rd, to make it 6-2. The Dons added a late goal in the 68th, but the outcome was already decided.
Martinez was the catalyst for the attack, recording one goal and two assists, while Garcia and Velasquez each scored twice. Goalkeeper Christian Hernandez made four saves in 90 minutes to help hold off the Dons' late push.
The Panthers will be on the road against San Diego Mesa College on September 3, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
