The Panthers took tonight's battle into double overtime against Cerritos, eventually falling 66-61 to the visiting Falcons. The teams were evenly matched in the first three periods of play with the Panthers up by two at the half. In the final seconds of the game, Cerritos' Nicole Lizzaraga sunk a jump shot to tie the game at 45 and send the teams into OT. With eight seconds remaining in overtime, Cerritos led by 3 when freshman Elyanna Rios sunk a three-pointer bringing fans to their feet and sending the teams into a 2nd overtime battle with the two teams trading points back-and-forth. The Falcons opened a 3 point lead with just over a minute remaining on the clock expanding that to five and securing the win.
Harjinder Takher led the Panthers with a double-double: 13 points and 16 rebounds. This was her fifth DD game this season.
The Panthers take a break for Thanksgiving and return to the Sports Center to host the 9th Annual Panther Pride Tournament December 6th and 7th.
