The Panther women put a mark in the win column tonight overpowering the Taft Cougars from the starting whistle to the final horn. After a disappointing start to the season, Chaffey claimed their first win 80-40. This was the Panthers' highest scoring game this season.
Breonna Martinez led the Panthers with 21 points. Meghan Cooper had the night's only double-double scoring 15 and rebounding 13 times. It was Cooper that scored the opening and closing shots of the game. The team's sole sophomore, Grace Estrada added 14 points to the board and had six assists. Martinez commented, "Shoutout to Grace for making all of her shots and being there to assist on mine." Beyonce Alvarez added 12 in the Panther win. The team shot 80% from the line.
The Panthers take on Cerritos tomorrow night on the road and return home next Wednesday to open the IEAC season against Victor Valley at 5pm.
