The Panthers kept it close but trailed for the first three quarters of play against Palo Verde tonight, but blazed a trail through the 4th period to take the final 2023-24 season game 47-39.
Atalia Thomas scored the night's only double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Panthers to the IEAC win. Fatimah Sani, Jada Cuellar, and Melinda Guzman each had eight.
Down by five at the half, Chaffey closed the gap in the 3rd period to one and then outscored the Pirates in the final period to take game.
Tonight's win gives the Panthers a 13-15 overall record, 6-4 in conference and a 3rd place IEAC finish.
Prior to tonight's tipoff, Chaffey sophomores Laniece Johnson, Breonna Martinez, and Meghan Cooper were honored for their contributions to the team over the past two seasons.
