The Panthers opened the home season Friday with a decisive win against Santa Monica 5-2.
Chaffey came out fully charged from the whistle with Kayla Bergin scoring two goals less than ten minutes into play. She followed with a third at 21. Still moving, Serenity DeLaTorre and Vanessa Avilas scored to take the Panthers into the break up 5-1. "We had an amazing start to the game, getting on the scoreboard in the first two minutes," commented Head Coach Grace Cooper.
"We played extremely hard and created multiple goal scoring opportunities. Second half we dropped a bit but overall we are very happy with the win and look forward to our game against Long Beach on Tuesday!" The Panthers take on Long Beach at home today at 2.
