PANTHERS OPEN SEASON WITH BIG SPLASH AT SCC PENTATHLON

The Panthers were back in the competitive waters for the first time since 2019 with a big showing at last Friday's South Coast Conference Pentathlon. Freshman Jaylynn Rodriguez opened the meet with a Top 15 showing and did not let up, capturing three including the top slot in the 100 Fly (set the pool record beating the previous benchmark by nearly two seconds) with a 1:04.63 finish. Darian Sanchez lead the men with three top finishes (200 IM, 100 Fly, and 100 Free). The Co-Ed Free relay team finished second behind host Mt SAC with a 1:49.49 finish.

Head Coach Kayle Morris: "I am extremely happy with how our team is performing. We may be small in numbers but we are strong individually. Our goal is to get some to the state meet, and with our first two meets this is looking very hopeful for us."

The teams will return to Mt SAC next Friday for the Mt SAC Invitational.
