VOLLEYBALL BATTLES IN LOSS TO MARAUDERS

In a closely contested home match, the Antelope Valley College Marauders (Lancaster, CA) secured a 3-1 victory over the Chaffey College Panthers volleyball team in the season opener for both teams.

The first two sets were tightly contested, with scores of 25-23 in both sets. The Panthers were able to win the third set at 25-16, but the Marauders rallied in the fourth set to close out the match with a 25-18 win.

Jayden Franchere led the Panthers with 12 kills and added 4 digs. Bria Love contributed with 6 kills and an impressive 5 service aces, while Madalyn Ayers-Morris added depth to the Panthers' attack with 5 kills and led the team in assists with 7. Defensively, Ayers-Morris recorded 12 digs and showcased her all-around game. Grace Hoang anchored the back row with a team-high of 18 digs.

The Panthers will look to regroup and play again on Wednesday, August 26 at home against Compton College.
