The Chaffey College Panthers Volleyball team celebrated their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Compton College (Compton, CA) in front of an energized home crowd. This victory marked Coach Peterson's first win as the new head coach and setting a positive tone for the season ahead.
The Panthers showed resilience and teamwork as they bounced back from a set down to claim the win. After dropping the first set 18-25, the Panthers rallied to take the next three sets (25-23, 25-9, 25-19). Leading the comeback was Jayden Franchere, who registered 11 kills, and Sarah Figueroa, who added 9 kills. Grace Hoang stood out with her serves and delivered 5 aces and Luciana Beningazza contributed with 3 aces.
With this win, the team looks to build momentum as they prepare for their next home match against Los Angeles Harbor College on September 4.
