CONFERENCE SEASON OPENS AT PCC
The ladies opened the home and SCC conference season yesterday against Pasadena, falling to the Lancers 7-6 in the final minutes of the game. "It was another close game but unlike at Crafton, this time we were the ones to come back at the end after being down by three."
The ladies came out weaker than planned vs PCC's strong start. "We came back but were unable to covert scoring opportunities into goals. We need to really learn to score under pressure," commented Kocsis.
Sierra Smith had a great performance scoring three and adding one steal. According to Kocsis, "she scored the goals we needed in overtime and was a true leader for us."
"I know the girls were nervous with the pressure of performing at home in front of their families and friends." The ladies return to the pool Friday at Southwestern for a mini tournament with Grossmont and Southwestern College.
