The ladies hosted Long Beach yesterday afternoon sending the Vikings home with a 2-1 loss to open the 2017 South Coast North Conference season. Chaffey's two runs came in the 1st inning when Amberly Dietrich hit a sacrifice to bring in Marissa Mendoza. Cassie Seymour then doubled bringing in Dietrich. Mendoza put in three innings on the mound for Chaffey, facing 16 batters and giving up the sole run for LBCC. Morgan Finley relieved in the 4th, facing 17 batters.
The ladies host Cerritos next week.
