Chaffey Softball faced off against Santa Barbara City College Saturday in a doubleheader.
The first game started off with a lot of energy with Chaffey scoring the first two runs of the game to take a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, five runs by SBCC in the bottom of the 4th sealed the 7-inning game.
In the second game, the team came back stronger than ever. They took control of the game early on and never let go, leading 6-0 in the 4th. Katie Avellaneda had an incredible game, with four runs, four hits, and two RBIs. Her outstanding performance was a significant factor in the team's success in the second game.
Tori (Victoria) Morton and Alexya Naranjo split the day with one win/one loss each.
Overall, it was an exciting day for both teams. Non-conference action continues next week at Palomar today.
