COIE CARTER KNOCKS A BASES LOADED HR IN 12-3 WIN OVER MT SAN JACINTO

The Panthers took on Mt San Jacinto yesterday, defeating the Eagles 12-3 in conference play.  

Scoreless through two innings, in the third, the Panthers took a decisive 7-0 lead setting the tone for the remainder of the game.  With two runners on base, Marissa Marquez knocked a triple.  Up next, a Hailey Marquez single brought Marissa in.  With two outs on the board and bases loaded, Coie Carter closed out the scoring rally with right field bomb taking Chaffey to 7-0.

Marissa Marquez again crossed home in the 4th off a bases loaded walk.  

In the 5th, up by 8, Chaffey expanded the lead to 12-0 courtesy of RBIs by Hailey Marquez, Coralyn Garcia, and Avellaneda.  The Eagles were finally able to score in the bottom of the 5th but down by nine closed IEAC game.

Alexya Naranjo got the win pitching 4.1.  Tori (Victoria) Morton was on relief.  Naranjo faced 17 batters.

The Panthers continue conference play this week at Victor Valley before traveling to Pasadena and LA Mission.
