Chaffey Softball continued home action with a doubleheader sweep of San Diego City College on Monday.
In game one, freshman lefty Amanda Sera threw 6 innings, allowing just 2 earned runs while striking out a pair. At the plate, Sera went 4-4 while scoring a pair of runs. She also stole five bases on the day, including 2nd, 3rd and home.
Sophomore catcher Kalissa Pimentel went 2-3 at the plate, collecting an RBI. Pimentel also threw out the only base runner attempting to steal.
Freshman Kristina Sandoval added a double and 2 RBI and freshman Megan Aranda also laced a double while scoring a run and picking up a sacrifice.
In game two, Sera also picked up the win, throwing 4 innings, allowing 2 earned runs and striking out five. Freshman Brooklyn Fristrom pitched the final 3 innings in relief and added 3 strikeouts.
At the plate, Sandoval went 3-4 with two doubles and a run scored. Freshman Vivian Medinilla was 2-3 with 3 RBI while Aranda also went 2-3 with a double and 2 runs scored.
