The Chaffey College softball team surged to a .500 record (6-6) with a decisive 10-2 victory over the Los Angeles Valley Monarchs, ending the game via the mercy rule.

Sophomore pitcher Tori Morton was dominant on the mound, throwing a complete-game, four-hit gem and earning her fourth win of the season. The right-hander struck out four and allowed just one earned run.
Offensively, the Panthers' bats came alive, racking up 12 hits from eight different players, a stark contrast to the previous game against Saddleback College, where they managed only two hits.
Sophomore Megan Aranda had an outstanding day, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a stolen base, a triple, and two RBIs. Fellow sophomore Samantha Vazquez, an Alta Loma High School alumna, was equally impressive, batting 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs scored.
Shortstop Tristen Wren added two hits, a stolen base, a run, and an RBI. Freshman outfielder Riley Montion also had a strong showing, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a run, two RBIs, and two stolen bases.
Looking ahead, the Panthers are set to host a doubleheader against Ventura this Wednesday before heading out for a three-game weekend series on Friday and Saturday. Fans can mark their calendars for the next home appearance: a doubleheader against Southwestern College on March 8th."
