The Chaffey women began their road tot eh 2023 state finals Saturday, defeating Mt San Jacinto 3-0 at home.
In their third head-to-head battle this season, Chaffey came on strong with Isis Medina scoring just four minutes into play. The score would stay at 1-0 through the half.
Invigorated by the break, Sydney Cotter came out kicking and claimed the team's second goal seven minutes into play. Cotter also had the assist in the first period point. Isabella Santa Maria knocked another in minutes later to seal the win for the Panther team.
Chaffey now advances to take on #9 College of the Canyons. Canyons defeated Allan Hancock Saturday 3-2. The Chaffey v Canyons battle had a 2023 preview early in the season with the Panthers defeating the Cougars 1-0. The winner of tomorrow's game will go on to play the winner of the Pasadena/Santa Barbara contest. Against PCC, the Panthers were 0-0 and against Santa Barbara 3-0W.
