Assistant Coach, Chaffey College Men's Basketball
Adjunct Professor, Chaffey College

Basketball 2001-2003

Prentice Harris, a natural athlete, played most sports in his youth.  At a young age, Prentice could most likely be found on the basketball courts as he gravitated to the sport.  As he neared high school, Prentice focused on basketball, becoming a standout player at Upland High School when he led the team to a CIF championship.

Prentice was encouraged by Jeff Klein, his coach at Upland and not the head men's basketball coach at Chaffey, to enroll at Chaffey College.  In 2001 Prentice took Coach Klein's advice - something he will always be thankful for.  At Chaffey, Prentice excelled in academics and as a basketball player and was recognized for his talents. his accomplishments earned him a full scholarship to Nazarene College.

Prentice eventually transferred to California State University, San Bernardino where he studied business and played for the Coyotes.  He led the basketball team to a regional championship and to the NCAA Final Four.  Prentice earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and was recruited to play professionally in the American Basketball Association (ABA).

Today, Prentice is giving back to Chaffey College both as an assistant coach for the men's basketball team and adjunct professor in the school of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Athletics.

Prentice continues to contribute to the community, coaching and coordinating youth sports activities.  He enjoys spending time with his girlfriend Brandi and the joy of his life, his daughter Marley.
